Luke Keali’ipono Moran got his start writing comedy as a lonely teenager penning fake Wikipedia articles for internet cred.
He has since written for the likes of The Onion, Comedy Central, Maude Night at The Upright Citizen’s Brigade, family friendly sketch show Studio C, web content for musicians like Cory Wong and Scary Pockets, and performed stand-up, sketch, and more at Austin Sketchfest, San Francisco Sketchfest, The Comedy Store, The Laugh Factory, and The Elysian Theater.
As a script writer, Luke writes comedies featuring multiracial protagonists at a crossroads of identity and the complicated, often contradictory ways we come of age. He’ll do it with a sci fi bent too even, if you let him.
As a copywriter, Luke specializes in social media and integrated campaigns that activate as well as entertain. Recently, his campaigns for Velveeta and the La Brea Tar Pits were shortlisted at the prestigious One Show awards. He thinks advertising could learn a thing or two from weird meme accounts.
Luke is also in a band sometimes.
